Westival Wins €5000 Runners Up Prize
Aviva Broker Community Fund
On Friday 15th January 2021 Aviva held its awards ceremony for the Aviva Broker Community Fund, where thirty donations from a pot of €100,000 was given away to charities and community organisations across the country, as nominated by brokers.
Hastings Insurance Brokers was proud to have nominated Westival, Westport’s Music and Arts Festival in the Community Organisation category. While Westival did not scoop the top prize, it was shortlisted and won a runners up prize of €5,000 for which both Westival and Hastings Insurance Brokers were delighted.
Sean Paul O’Hare, Westival Director said: “I would like to thank Hastings Insurance Brokers for nominating us for the Aviva Broker Community Fund. It is a great honour for Westival to be considered for this award along with so many outstanding community projects during these tough times of Covid-19. To win an award of €5,000 and get into the final 5 of a competition with over 130 fantastic community groups is a great achievement and we are thrilled that our work within the local community has been recognised by Aviva.
The fund will support creative programming both in Westport and in nearby rural areas where we will be launching a new creative project aimed at local farming and rural communities.
